Treehouse's first show has come and gone! We spent the month of August creating C.Q.D. (come quick danger, used as a distress signal before SOS) and performed the piece for the S&P community at the Wharf. Characters were based off the roles we'll be playing this semester, so my scene partner, Cameron Taylor, and I played roles based off the Duchess of Malfi and her twin brother Ferdinand. We took their *ahem* tense relationship and created the story of a first class passenger and her valet who can't decide if they should be lovers or mortal enemies. In the end, the Duchess' secret pregnancy drove them apart, even as they met their watery end. As their relationship ended, the Duchess reconciled with the other pregnant woman aboard the doomed ship, played by Kelsey Harrison, a business class passenger who never quite succeeded in getting to high ground.
